News broke today that top lightweight prospect “Irish” Joseph Duffy has signed a multi fight deal with the UFC. Although details are scarce, he is expected to debut in March or April for the promotion. The news was first reported by TheScore.

Duffy holds notable wins from back in 2010 over Norman Parke and Conor McGregor, who are both undefeated inside the UFC.

Duffy recently returned to MMA with 2 impressive finishes inside Cage Warriors after he had stepped away to pursue professional boxing following a short stint on The Ultimate Fighter. His only loss came back in 2011 against Ivan Musardo, in a bout which Duffy broke his hand.

Cage Warriors congratulated Duffy via their Facebook page “Congrats Joseph Duffy well deserved.”

Duffy is the latest in a long list of former Cage Warriors fighters who have since signed with the UFC.
