Despite only losing his belt last week in the main event of UFC 217 at Madison Square Garden, former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping will make a swift return to the Octagon on short notice to take on Kelvin Gastelum in the main event of UFC Shanghai on the 25th of November.

The news was first reported by Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com and confirmed on the UFC Norfolk broadcast this evening.

Gastelum was left without an opponent after Anderson Silva was pulled from the card. Silva was provisionally suspended on Friday for an alleged USADA violation.

Bisping will be returning to the Octagon exactly three weeks after dropping his title to Georges St-Pierre. Gastelum last fought in July where he lost to another former middleweight champion, Chris Weidman.
