Undefeated Irish prospect Darragh Kelly is set to return to the PFL “SmartCage.”

Per multiple sources, a lightweight matchup between Donegal’s Kelly (9-0) and Mexico’s Sergio “Drako” Cossio (19-11-1) has been added to the PFL Belfast card on Thursday 16th April.

“The Moville Mauler” is undefeated in MMA, boasting an impressive 18-fight win streak across both amateur and professional ranks dating back to 2017. The SBG Ireland fighter went 6-0 under the Bellator promotional banner, and has notched back-to-back finishes in PFL. Most recently, Kelly choked Bakhtiyar Abdulaev (10-1) inside three minutes. Kelly last fought on Irish soil in 2024, and it will be the first time he competes in front of a Belfast crowd since winning the Clan Wars lightweight title in 2023.

Sergio Cossio won four title fights in Mexico’s Lux Fight League across 2021 and 2022. “Drako” built on his success in the Mexican scene with a win submission over then undefeated Jesse Roberts in his Bellator debut on their landmark 300th event. Cossio followed that up with a successful PFL debut, besting Anthony Romero over three rounds. Though 9-2 in his last 11 fights, Cossio enters the contest vs Kelly off the back of consecutive defeats. Most recently, Cossio fell to a decision loss against two-time PFL Europe champion Jakub Kaszuba.

The PFL Belfast card will be headlined by a lightweight bout between #4 ranked Paul “Big News” Hughes (14-3) and #6 ranked Jay Jay Wilson (11-2). Hughes returns to the SSE Arena for the second time in the space of a year, where he last dispatched Bruno Miranda in just 42 seconds last May.

Prelims will commence at 7:30pm Irish time, with the main card kicking off at midnight
