Exclusive Interview with Arni Isaksson ahead of his bout with Ali Arish

We caught up with Arni “The Ice Viking” Isaksson after it was announced yesterday that he will defend his Cage Contender Welterweight Championship against Ali Arish in Dublin on 23rd of February.

Arni captured the belt at Cage Contender 15 in Belfast back in October with a thrilling TKO win over highly touted prospect Wayne “Mayhem” Murrie

Do you know much about your opponent Ali Arish?

No, not much. he is a good fighter and likes to take people down and he has a heavy blow.

Will you study much fight tape on Arish?

No, that I will not do. I will meditate and talk to god Thor, to give me the secret weapon with which I will do battle.

Arish has good wrestling and showed his KO power against Wayne Murrie, with a first round KO back in June 2011, what aspect of his game do you think presents the most danger?

I will not disrespect anything that he does. All I can do is flow and do my stuff. and when you flow then the beautiful things exist and artwork, and they mix well together.

It was rumoured that you were ill (food poisoning) the night of your TKO win over Wayne Murrie back in October, can u confirm or deny this?

Yes it’s true. I was on the toilet battling. But in life sometimes you just quit whining and just say fuck it. Whatever happens happens

Is there anybody you would like to thank?

I want thank my sponsor Vegamót, the best food in town and on the weekends is nice to go partying. og óðinsbúð which sells beautiful fight stuff and my gym Mjölnir.
