Dana White: “[Silva v Sonnen] going to be in a soccer stadium in Rio”

UFC President Dana White announced today at the “Major Announcement” Press Conference that Anderson Silva vs Chael Sonnen II will  likely take place on 16th June in Rio, Brazil in front of 80,000 fans.

“Think about this, the Chael Sonnen/Anderson Silva fight, I’m probably going to put my foot in my mouth again, and probably not supposed to be talking about this either, but I always do it so, this thing’s going to be in a soccer stadium in Rio,” White said.

“This thing’s going to have over 80,000 people are going to be at this event down there.”

According to Chael Sonnen, whose word isn’t exactly gold, no contracts have been signed yet.

Champion Anderson Silva is coming off shoulder surgery, and will likely wait until he is fully healed before agreeing to this bout.
