Unbeaten Paul Sass to face TUF veteran Matt Wiman on home soil

Now that UFC: Nottingham has a main event – Stefan Struve vs. Stipe Miocic – expect the rest of the fight card to start falling into place.

The next bout set for the UFC’s return to England is a lightweight bout matching up Paul Sass and Matt Wiman, according to UFC president Dana White.

“After looking so impressive in his last fight at UFC 146, unbeaten Liverpool lightweight Paul Sass steps up to fight talented veteran Matt Wiman, who has won four of his last five fights,” said White.

Sass, with his victory over Jacob Volkmann at UFC 146, is now 13-0 as a professional with three of those victories in the Octagon.

He made his UFC debut at UFC 120 in London, now gets to return to his home turf, albeit in Nottingham, for his next fight.

Wiman (14-6) is now 8-4 in the Octagon, having debuted way back at UFC 60 in 2006. He is coming off of a unanimous decision victory over Mac Danzig late last year at the final UFC on Versus event.
