DaMarques Johnson cut from the UFC following loss to Gunnar Nelson

DaMarques ‘Darkness’ Johnson has revealed via his personal twitter, that he has been released from the UFC following his first round loss to Gunnar Nelson

Although “Darkness” took the fight on 2 weeks notice, Johnson failed to make weight for this bout, weighing in at 183lbs even after a 175lb catchweight bout had been agreed on.

“And the hits keep on coming… No longer a UFC fighter.” – @DaMarques_UFC

Johnson, who went 4-6 in the UFC, also missed weight back in 2010 ahead of a fight with Matt Riddle.

‘The Ultimate Fighter 9’ runner up, who has never been to a UFC decision, will likely have to weigh in properly and win a couple on the regional circuit before receiving the call from Joe Silva again
