Cage Contender to air live on TV in 2013 starting on 23rd February

Ferguson Sports Group have announced that their Cage Contender brand will be broadcast live through out 2013, starting with Cage Contender XVI: Paul Daley vs Patrick Vallée from Dublin, Ireland on 23rd February 2013

The live broadcast will be available on Setanta Ireland in Ireland and Premier Sports in the UK

Fight Network will air the events live in Canada, with FightNowTV broadcasting live in America. Viewers in Portugal, Turkey, Mozambique and Angola will also be able to watch live on television.

There will also be a worldwide PPV (Pay-Per-View) option on the LiveSport.tv platform, who also carry One FC and other major sporting events.

We spoke to Cage Contender CEO John Ferguson about the new deal

“It’s another great step forward for Cage Contender. We’re happy to be giving broadcasters a live option, that will run hand in hand with our already successful tape delay product”

“We would like to thank all the broadcasters that have come on board, as each required an increase in their budget to accquire the live rights.

“People might think we are mad moving to a live broadcast in the country where the event is being held but as boxing has proven for many years that sports fans deem live products to be more worthy of their time

We hope this is a benchmark that the industry will adopt”
