Conor McGregor and Andy Ogle have verbally agreed to fight at UFC on FOX Sports 1 1 on 17th August 2013 in Boston.

UFC president Dana White announced that McGregor would be fighting on the Boston card immediately following Conor’s UFC debut, a devastating KO over Marcus Brimage in Sweden, but no opponent had been named until now.

We caught up with McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh moments ago to get his reaction to the bout.

“I’ve watched Ogle fight a number of times and have always been a fan of his tenacity and will. I think it’ll be intriguing contest of Ogles aggressive brawling style against Conor’s technical brilliance.

“Of course I am Conor’s coach and cannot see any other end to the bout other than first round KO.”

The UFC announced the bout Friday evening via a press release to the media.

“Ireland’s Conor “Notorious” McGregor is set to take on England’s Andy “The Little Axe” Ogle in a hotly-anticipated Boston bout.

Both fighters have verbally agreed to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight bout which will take place on August 17th in Boston for UFC on Fox Sports 1.

Few fighters have made as big of a first impression in the Octagon as Conor McGregor, but now he will face the ultra-durable and tough Andy Ogle in his second outing.

The two featherweights are coming off wins in Europe this year. McGregor took Stockholm by storm at his UFC debut in April, winning Knockout of the Night after defeating Michael Brimage in striking style.

Sunderland’s Ogle defeated Josh Grispi by unanimous decision in February, at a sold-out Wembley Arena at UFC on Fuel 7. Ogle was also a cast member of UFC’s ratings-hit reality show The Ultimate Fighter® 15, where he was part of Urijah Faber’s team.

Fans can watch the bout on BT Sport, UFC’s exclusive television partner in the UK and Ireland. The first live event on the new channel will be UFC 163: Aldo vs. Pettis, where British fans will be backing Tom “Kong” Watson when he takes on Thales Leites in Rio de Janeiro.
