Alan Philpott set to face Leigh Remedios for 135lb belt at Cage Contender 18

A fourth UFC veteran has been added to the Cage Contender 18 fight card for the promotions return to Belfast’s Kings Hall Complex on 26th April 2014. Englishman Leigh Remedios will face Ballymena’s Alan Philpott for the vacant Cage Contender Bantamweight Title.

Alan “The Apprentice” Philpott will endeavor for the second time to claim the Cage Contender Bantamweight Title when he enters the biggest fight of his career in Belfast on April 26th, the popular Ballymena pugilist will be the massive underdog when facing one of the best known and most experienced Bantamweights in UK MMA Leigh “Bulldog” Remedios.

Remedios (18-10-2) will no doubt come into the bout as a strong favourite given his vast experience and well renowned slick skill set.

“I’m really looking forward to fighting in Ireland. I was supposed to fight on Cage Contender previously but my opponent had to withdraw, so it will be good to fight on the event. I’ve been to Ireland a couple of times to train and the Irish have a great fighting spirit” – Leigh Remedios
