Robbie Lawler vs Rory MacDonald set for 11th July in Las Vegas

UFC president Dana White announced today at the special UFC press conference that Rory MacDonald will face champion Robbie Lawler on the same card as McGregor and Aldo at UFC 189 on 11th July.

Robbie Lawler recently captured the UFC welterweight strap at UFC 181 in Decemeber after a hard fought close decision victory over Johny Hendricks, who had taken the decision the first time the two met back in March 2014.

It was also confirmed at the press conference that Jose Aldo vs Conor McGregor will be the main event of UFC 189 with MacDonald vs. Lawler as the co-main event.

UFC 189 is set to take place in the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada.

There are no other bouts officially announced for this card at this time, but stay tuned to SevereMMA for all UFC 189 news as it breaks.
