Albuquerque P.D. name UFC champion Jon Jones as “suspect” in hit and run

Albuquerque Police Department spokesman Simon Drobik told MMAFighting that UFC champion Jon Jones is the suspect in a hit and run incident on Sunday morning. Police haven’t been able to contact Jones yet but are hoping he will contact them to give his side of the story.

“Yes, he is the suspect and we’re hoping that he will contact us to give us his side of the story,”

The UFC released the following statement..

“We are aware that the Albuquerque Police Department is interested in speaking to Jon Jones regarding his possible involvement in a motor vehicle accident. We are in the process of gathering facts and will reserve further comment until more information is available.”

Sources told MMAjunkie that the victim of the incident is pregnant.

No charges have been filed and as it stands Jones’ bout with Anthony Johnson at UFC 187 in May is still scheduled to go ahead.
