Neil Seery set to face Louis Smolka at UFC 189 in Las Vegas

Irishman Neil “2 Tap” Seery will join his fellow countryman Conor McGregor on the UFC 189 card this July in Las Vegas.

He will face Louis Smolka (8-1) who has only tasted defeat once in his career in the form of a close split decision against former title contender Chris Cariaso back in May 2014. The news was first reported by the Sun.

Team Ryano’s Seery (15-10) has not been the beneficiary of easy matchmaking either having made his UFC debut against Brad Pickett who is one of only two men to have beaten current UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson.

“2 Tap” is coming off an impressive decision victory over the previously undefeated prospect Chris Beal at UFC Fight Night Stockholm back in January 2015.

UFC 189 takes place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada on the 11th July 2015 and will be headlined by Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor for the UFC featherweight championship.

Also on the card UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler will face Rory MacDonald in the co-main event.
