Alan Philpott is set to face Regis Sugden for the Lonsdale Bantamweight Title at BAMMA 22 in the 3Arena in Dublin on 19th September 2015.

The Next Generation Northern Ireland product is 13-7 as a professional and was on a 3 fight win streak before falling to a rear naked choke in a fight he was winning against the undefeated Ed Arthur in his last bout.

“BAMMA coming to Dublin is exciting as this island needs a big show. Since BAMMA has come back they have been pulling the shows put of the bag. It’s good for the Northern and Southern Irish fighters as it means our supporters can get to our fights easier.” said Philpott

“The 3 Arena is massive and will be a good taste of what it’s like on the big stage. I’m excited about my fight with Regis. I like him he’s a good kid with bags of talent. Saying that, I know I am the better all round fighter. He has had a couple of wins and is looking good, though anyone can look good against bums!

I will be fired up and back to my normal self in this fight. I actually think Regis is a bigger threat than Ed. When I fought him I was too calm and I didn’t like it. I couldn’t even get out of 1st gear and I was smashing him.

This time I will be going for it from the start. I am getting back to finishing my opponents and getting my name back in line for the title. I lost and everyone was talking about me. When I win everyone will still talk about me. I can’t want to represent northern Ireland and get back to my winning ways.”

His opponent Regis Sugden simply said:

“Better opponent, same intentions, same result… Be ready!”
