Catherine Costigan vs Amber Brown official for Invicta FC 13 in July

After news broke earlier today that BAMMA would be venturing into the Emerald Isle, there was more good news for Irish MMA today as Limerick’s Catherine Costigan has had her next fight confirmed.

Costigan, a former Cage Warriors stand-out, will fight fellow atomweight Amber Brown at Invicta FC 13 in Las Vegas on July 9th, the same week as Conor McGregor fights for the UFC featherweight title against Jose Aldo.

Fighting out of Albuquerque, New Mexico with a 4-1 record, Brown will be the toughest test of Costigan’s career so far having already fought, and won, in Invicta last time out while as an unbeaten 5-0 fighter on the European scene, Costigan, having struggled to get matched on this side of the pond, will be hoping to work her way up the 105 lbs rankings with a win in Vegas.

The card will be a quality one and features three title fights including the headlining bout between featherweight champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino and New Zealander Faith Van Duin, a bantamweight title fight between veteran Tonya Evinger and Mexican prospect Irene Aldana while the Atomweight Champion Herica Tiburcio defends her title against Ayaka Hamasaki.
