This afternoon the UFC have announced the first event on the EMEA schedule for 2016. UFC Fight Night will return to The O2 on Saturday 27th February 2016.

Here’s the official press release from UFC International:

The UFC last visited London in 2014 with 14,000 fans watching Britain’s Jimi “Poster Boy” Manuwa take on Swedish powerhouse Alex “The Mauler” Gustafsson in an unforgettable main event battle. That event sold out in under 24 hours and, since then, fans all over the UK have longed for a UFC event to return to the capital city of London.

A similar sell-out reaction is expected when tickets to the 2016 event are released to the public on Friday 4th December 2015, with priority access to different groups from Tuesday 1st December.

Bouts will be announced in due course however fighters including the No. 8 ranked UFC middleweight Michael “The Count” Bisping, fan-favourite Brad “One Punch” Pickett and lightweight Ross “The Real Deal” Pearson have already discussed their desire to compete in front of home fans on the London fight card.

Joe Carr, Vice President of International at UFC, said:

“UFC and MMA have enjoyed a phenomenal level of success and growth across Europe in recent years and London remains a particularly important market for us.

“We recently sold out the 3Arena in Dublin in a matter of seconds and the SSE Hydro in Glasgow a few hours after going on sale earlier this year, therefore this event will be a great opportunity for fans who missed out on tickets to those dates to secure a seat this time around.

“When you combine the fantastic fan support with a growing roster of world class British and Irish fighting talent, it’s difficult to predict anything other than an unforgettable, sell-out event in London on February 27.”

Tickets will be made available to O2 Priority and UFC Fight Club members on Tuesday 1st December

UFC Newsletter subscribers will have access from 10:00am Friday 4th December and tickets will go on sale to the general public at 12:00pm on the same day.

Further details on how to purchase tickets will be released in the coming weeks.
