After tweets, retirements, cancellations and un-retirements this week there was a press conference tonight hosted by UFC president Dana White to set-out the next list of big fights.

The big talking point was always going to be the original UFC 200 main event with Conor McGregor vs. Nathan Diaz cancelled earlier in the week and that’s exactly how it worked out.

With Diaz in attendance White announced that he would still be on UFC 200 and that they are “trying to find him an opponent.”

“We don’t know [who Nate is going to fight] but we are trying to figure that out.”

“I want Conor to fight, of course I do, but you’ve got to show up for this stuff.” White said when pushed on there being any chance of McGregor still fighting on UFC 200.

“Frankie and Jose will fight and Conor will fight the winner.” – White went on to say while later confirming that Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier was a possibility for the UFC 200 main event slot.

For Nate Diaz, he didn’t seem bothered about McGregor’s absence and still wanted the fight to go ahead.

“I came to fight Conor McGregor.” Diaz said.  “I don’t have interest in fighting anyone else.”

“I didn’t ask for the fight. He asked for it and wanted it. If that ain’t happening, I’m going on vacation.”

“I’m training to fight at UFC 200 against Conor McGregor.”

While over on twitter McGregor made a statement of his own:
