Bellator 246 Results and Highlights

Bellator bantamweight gold was on the line in the Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday Night. Juan Archuleta and Patchy Mix threw down for the vacant title in the main event of the evening. Jon Fitch and Neiman Gracie locked horns in the co-main event.

A new bantamweight king was crowned tonight. Patchy Mix and Juan Archuleta fought to a razor clode decision. Mix got off to the better start in the fight. Archuleta utilised his dirty boxing on the inside for most of the fight. He landed huge shots to the body of Mix. Clearly hurt, Mix still pressed forward looking for the takedown and tried to land big shots of his own.

When the final bell rang it was hard to predict who was going to get their hand raised. In the end the judges scored the bout in favour on Juan Archuleta. After previously failing at 145 pounds the American finally picked up Bellator gold at 135 pounds. He is now the promotions new bantamweight champion.

Neiman Gracie (10-1) secured a second round kneebar to gain his ninth submission win. His opponent Jon Fitch (32-8) announced his retirement inside the cage after the fight.

On her Bellator debut Liz Carmouche (14-7) pulled off a rear naked choke. She finished DeAnna Bennett in the third round.
