Kevin Mullen signs with Cage Warriors, faces Kent Kauppinen at CW119

Breaking news this afternoon as Severe MMA have confirmed that Cage Warriors have signed English prospect Kevin Mullen. Mullen (4-0) will make his promotional debut against Kent Kauppinen (12-6) on December 12th—the last night of the second Trilogy series—at Cage Warriors 119 in York Hall, London. The bout will take place in the 185 lbs middleweight division.

Mullen made his professional debut in 2017 as four wins in less than 18 months got his paid career off to an impressive start. Wins over journeyman Shaun Lomas, Eric Olsen and Adam Chętnik surrounded a second-round victory over Cage Warriors welterweight George McManus. Fight cancellations have scuppered him since then but signing with the Cage Warriors will see him get the opportunity to reignite his career.

Kauppinen will be no easy task in that debut though. The former professional boxer has packed some big named opponents into his 18-fight MMA stint. Melvin Manhoef, Walter Gahadza, Will Fleury and Fabian Edwards have all shared the cage with the now-veteran of the European scene. He will also be looking to make a statement in the first fight of his Cage Warriors contract.

The fight will fill out a stellar card featuring the likes of Morgan Charriere, Perry Goodwin, Paul Hughes, Ian Garry, Joe McColgan and more. All three Cage Warriors Trilogy cards will be live on UFC Fight Pass.
