UFC 257 – Severe MMA Staff Predictions

UFC 257 goes down inside Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena this Saturday 23rd January, as MMA supernova and former UFC double champion Conor McGregor (22-4) takes on Dustin Poirier (26-6) in the main event, a rematch of their 2014 contest that saw the Irishman emerge victorious via 1st-round KO. With UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov’s recent retirement announcement the source of much debate, it’s unclear what will happen with the belt, but McGregor vs Poirier II is a more than worthy unofficial decider for the throne to most fans.

In the co-main event, Kiwi Dan Hooker (20-9) welcomes former Bellator champion Michael Chandler (21-5) to the lightweight ranks, a real litmus test for the American as he enters the UFC’s most stacked division.

Our man Ian O’Neill has you covered for a full preview of UFC 257, so make sure to check that out!

For now though, and as always, the Severe MMA team are here to provide our predictions for the main card fights. Let us know in the comments who you are picking and why!
