Brian Moore vs. Erik Perez set for Bellator 258

On Tuesday, the news broke that Brian Moore (13-7) and Erik Perez (19-8) will clash in the bantamweight division on May 7 at Bellator 258.

The contest was confirmed by Danny Segura after being first reported by Milenio, a Mexican outlet.

“The Pikeman” will join SBG teammates James Gallagher and Peter Queally on the card which is set to take place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in the United States. Queally (12-5-1) will put an end to his long-term rivalry when he squares off against Patricky Pitbull (23-9) in the lightweight division. While James Gallagher (11-1) and will take on fellow contender Patchy Mix (13-1) for a possible shot at the bantamweight title.

Moore is currently riding a two fight win streak and is coming off of a super impressive performance over Simone D’Anna at Bellator 247. The Wexfordman put on arguably his most impressive performance to date as landed a heavy right hook to stop the fight in round two and set himself up with this showdown with Perez.

Erik Perez (19-8) has had experience fighting at the highest level in the UFC’s bantamweight division. Since his UFC departure in 2016 the Mexican fighter has had a spell at Combate Americas before going on to sign for Bellator in 2019. In his first two fights with the promotion Perez has suffered defeats to Toby Misech and Josh Hill. Moore has eyes on a title run and a win over Perez will see him hopefully march up the Bellator rankings.

Bellator 258 is set to be broadcast on Virgin Media 2 on Friday May 7th, 2021.
