Breaking: Ryan Shelley vs Liam Molloy added to Cage Warriors 127

SevereMMA have confirmed that a featherweight fight between Team KF’s Ryan Shelley (1-0) and Next Generation Liverpool’s Liam Molloy (2-1) has been added to Cage Warriors 127. The event, which is headlined by a bantamweight title fight between Nathan Fletcher and Dominique Wooding, will take place this Thursday 30th September in London’s York Hall.

Ryan Shelley is the latest fighter in the Team KF stable to break through to the Cage Warriors circuit. A former WAKO kickboxing world champion, Ryan (alongside his older brother and fellow Team KF fighter, Adam) grew up competing in Taekwondo before finding MMA.

Shelley quickly established himself on the Irish amateur scene in 2019, competing five times in the space of 9 months, most notably scoring a highlight-reel head kick KO in just his second outing.

The Dubliner went on to make his pro debut earlier this year, earning a 2nd-round TKO victory at Clan Wars 40 in June. Shelley will be aiming to keep his undefeated pro record in tact when he takes on a formidable opponent in Liam Molloy.

Molloy tore onto the UK amateur scene after making his MMA debut in 2017. In his first 4 fights, the Liverpool fighter went back to back (to back to back) finishing his opponents via 1st-round KO, with these of those fights lasting 21 seconds or less.

The 25-year-old fighter won and successfully defended his Full Contact Contender amateur featherweight title before transitioning to professional MMA. Molloy remained with FCC, going 2-1 as a pro, with both victories coming by way of KO. Though he is no stranger to Cage Warriors either, having previously competed twice as an amateur for the famed promotion.

Given Molloy’s ruthless finishing capabilities and Shelley’s wealth of striking experience and prowess, this matchup is set to be a cracking fight between two young pros who have both shown great potential.
