Cage Conflict 5 Preview & Full Card

This weekend Cage Conflict will return treating us to another massive lineup of fights. The main card sees five amateur titles up for grabs before moving onto the five scheduled pro fights. 3 of which are international bouts as fighters fly in for their respective bouts.

Pro title fights

Both the Middleweight and Flyweight belts will be on the line with a Fight Academy Ireland fighter in each of the bouts.

In the Main Event, Paddy McCorry returns to the cage for a second time as a pro to defend the belt that he won in his debut. McCorry had a solid amateur career that was largely spent at Welterweight. However, since turning pro he’s found a home at Middleweight, finishing Petru Plesa in the Main Event of the historical Cage Conflict 4 card.

Cathal Manning will be looking to spoil the party for hometown fighter McCorry as he returns from a two-year layoff. The 2018 IMMAF European Bronze Medalist has had mixed luck as a pro, losing on Cage Conflict 1 in his debut. He returned at Cage Warriors 110 to earn his first pro win in style over Ismar Blagoje but has been on the scene absent until recently.

For the 125lbs strap, Ciaran Mulholland will be hoping to extend his current run of form. As an amateur, he was collecting belts for fun across the UK and Ireland and will now look to add his first one as a pro. Mulholland is renowned for being a tricky customer when it comes to grappling, proving so by ending his last two bouts with a Guillotine Choke followed up by a Kimura in his most recent bout.

Across from him will be Robbie Brown who similarly to Mulholland had a long-serving amateur career spanning over 20 fights. His amateur wins and sole pro have mostly come via submission making this all the more intriguing.

Ireland vs. Italy

You could also call these next two fights Team KF vs. Centurion Club Manduria. When highly rated brothers Adam and Ryan Shelley will be fighting on the same card for the second time as pros. Ryan is currently undefeated as a pro having finished both of his fights to date. Most recently beating Liam Molloy at Cage Warriors 127. He’ll be taking on the experienced Paolo Vista who returns to action for the first time since 2019.

Adam on the other hand will be fighting rising prospect Daniele Scagliusi. The Team KF fighter was unsuccessful in his pro debut, losing out to Kenny Mokhonoana via submission. If he can stop the pressure of Scagliusi and start landing his slick striking, it would be a good scalp for his first pro win.

Breslin debut & return of Mark Andrew

The last of the pro fights sees pro debutant Ciaran Breslin take the plunge into the pro ranks. As an amateur Breslin won a Bronze medal at the 2018 IMMAF European Championships with mixed luck on the regional scene. However, he opted to go pro after a period of inactivity. He’ll take on another man who’s been absent from fighting for two years in Mark Andrew.

After making a blistering start to his pro career by securing a TKO/KO victory in his debut in the 3Arena. It’s been a series of tough fights and losses for Andrew. His last fight was a 1st round TKO/KO loss to Connor Hitchens at UKFC 10.
