Cage Legacy 15 Results: Shauna Bannon successful in pro debut

Cage Legacy 15 is in the books and it did not disappoint. The stacked card was non stop action from start to finish. The show was headlined by a pro bout between Shauna Bannon (1-0) and Kerry Isom (1-2) and the fight certainly delivered. Fighting in front of her hometown, Bannon was welcomed to a huge reception from the crowd. The fight itself was fireworks and was very much Bannon’s fight throughout as she dominated Isom, displaying some slick striking and impressive grappling throughout.

It was the second round where she took over though. After some ground and pound near the end of the round, the referee was forced to step in to call the fight causing the crowd to erupt. The win sees Bannon crowned the new Cage Legacy Strawweight Champion and move to 1-0 as a pro.

The co-main event also lived up to expectations as Troy Gibson and Jordan O’Neill battled it out for the Light Heavyweight belt. Moving up from Welterweight, it was new territory for Gibson who made a great account for himself. However, O’Neill was relentless in his approach, mixing up his strikes nicely to see out the victory. He is aiming to go pro next and called for a spot on the Cage Warriors Belfast card.

Outside of those fights we were treated to a close contest in the rematch between Gary Rooney and Matthew Friel. Rooney came out victorious to add a second belt to his collection.

Mario Ditofano was too much for Nathan Brennan in their Lightweight title fight with the fight being called between rounds.

Full Power fighter Alex Josan set the record for the fastest finish in Cage Legacy history, a record he previously held, by choking out Shane Mullen in 26 seconds to win the Interim Featherweight belt.

Following a successful event in Dublin, Cage Legacy are set to return again on June 10th in Meath for their 16th show. The full list of results from Cage Legacy 15 are as follows.
