A welterweight clash between James “Jimbo Slice” Sheehan (6-2) and Oban “The Welsh Gangster” Elliott (7-2) is targeted for Cage Warriors 153 on Saturday 29th April in Dublin’s 3Arena. Sources confirmed the news to SevereMMA.com

The matchup pits rising prospects against each other, with Team Ryano charge Sheehan riding a 5-fight win streak in the 170lbs division. Meanwhile, Shore Martial Arts’ Elliott will aim to notch his 4th win on the bounce.

Sheehan’s last loss in the famous yellow Cage Warriors gloves dates all the way back to February 2019, when the Whitehall native battled fellow Irishman Ian Machado Garry. I’m the 4 years since that war, Sheehan has gone from strength to strength, looking a legitimate contender in the division.

Welshman Elliott has rebounded tremendously from his last loss to Madars Fleminas in December 2021, piecing together an undefeated 3-0 run in 2022.

This is a fight that could have future title implications for the winner, and with Rhys McKee scheduled to defend his Cage Warriors welterweight crown against interim title holder Jimmy Wallhead in the main event, the 170lbs bracket will be one to watch come April 29th.
