Frans Mlambo Signs Multi-Fight Deal with PFL

SevereMMA can confirm that Frans Mlambo has signed a multi-fight deal with the Professional Fighters League. Mlambo, who fights out of SBG Ireland under John Kavanagh, will compete in the European Bantamweight tournament which takes place over three events in Germany, France and Ireland.

In January, PFL announced a number of European events that are set to take place throughout the year with the first to take place in Newcastle, UK on 25th March 2023.

The bantamweight tournament will kick off in Berlin, Germany on 8th June 2023. Mlambo is due make his PFL debut on the Germany card against an opponent who is yet to be named.

If Mlambo, who represents both South Africa and Ireland inside the cage, was to be victorious he would then fight in the next round of the tournament in Paris, France on 30th September 2023.

The European tournament finales will take place on home soil for Mlambo at the 3Arena in Dublin on 8th December 2023.

Mlambo was last seen inside the cage on 12th December 2021 when he competed in Combate Global’s ‘Copa Combate’ tournament. The SBG standout fought three times in one night, taking out Jose Zarauz, Cristian Barraza and Kevin Cordero en route to winning the one-night tournament.

Mlambo took home $100,000 prize money after that win. “The Black Mamba” will have the chance to take home another $100,000 if he was to be successful in the PFL’s bantamweight tournament.

The PFL European Series will air on DAZN and all four European shows will be streamed starting on 25th March 2023.
