A middleweight fight between Paddy McCorry (2-1) and Angus Hewett (Pro Debut) is set to take place at Cage Warriors 153 on Saturday 29th April in Dublin’s 3Arena. Sources with knowledge of the matchup confirmed the news to SevereMMA.com.

Fight Academy Ireland’s McCorry is coming off a decision loss to former Cage Warriors middleweight champion James Webb, in his last outing at CW145. Just two fights into his pro career, the Belfast fighter stepped in on days notice and went toe to toe with the vastly more experienced Webb, coming close to a finish in the third round. McCorry previously won the Cage Conflict 185lbs title in his pro debut and boasts a 100% finish rate in his wins as a pro.

Hewett, who trains out of Silverbacks MMA, is set to make his professional debut. Hewett went 5-0 as an amateur, winning the Cage Warriors Academy light heavyweight title and successfully defending it twice. The Englishman finished 4 of his 5 fights as an amateur.

McCorry vs Hewett joins a growing number of Irish bouts announced for Cage Warriors return to 3Arena on Saturday April 29th. Full card to date below:
