What’s Next For MMA Superstar Roberto Soldic in ONE?

When Roberto Soldic signed on the dotted line with ONE Championship in 2022, very few would have predicted that his first two outings inside the Circle would go the way they have.

From his December debut at ONE on Prime Video 5 ending in an underwhelming no contest against Murad Ramazanov, to his knockout loss to former ONE Welterweight World Champion Zebaztian Kadestam earlier this month at ONE Fight Night 10, “Robocop’s” hasn’t come close to living up to the hype that surrounded his arrival at the Singapore-based promotion.

But despite having yet to record a win inside the Circle, it would be unjust to write off the talented welterweight.

Solidc’s destructive resume is there for all to see, and his skill set is undeniable. He won both the middleweight and welterweight titles at Polish promotion KSW, and he has 20 wins to his name. So, he should be considered a threat whenever and wherever he fights.

His third outing in ONE will be crucial for him to begin making moves in the ever-evolving welterweight division, and a few names come to mind when thinking about who he could face.

Tongan-Australian star Isi Fitikefu may be a suitable opponent for “Robocop,” given his recent surge in form. After going down to a split decision loss against Ruslan Emilbek Uulu in his debut last November, Fitikeku went back to the drawing board.

He reassessed his fight approach and came roaring back at ONE Fight Night 9 last month, scoring a first-round rear-naked choke victory over promotional mainstay Valmir Da Silva.

A battle against Soldic would be a meteoric step up for Fitikefu, but it also would be fair from a pushover for the Croatian star.

Soldic could also continue to fight the absolute best the division has to offer in order to really make his name known with a first win. If he decides to do that, former divisional king Kiamrian Abbasov might be his next port of call.

“Brazen” enjoyed a lengthy stay atop the welterweight mountain, with wins over the likes of Kadestam and James Nakashima to his name. However, the Russian fell to Christian Lee last November, losing his crown in the process.

A battle between the duo would feature two gladiators with points to prove inside the Circle, and a victory for either man would propel them back into the World Title picture.
