Kiefer Crosbie Signs With UFC, Debuts at UFC 293

Kiefer Crosbie has become the latest in a rush of Irish fighters to put pen to paper with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The Straight Blast Gym man announced his signing on Instagram before our colleagues at MMA Junkie confirmed the news.

On Instagram, an ecstatic Crosbie wrote:

“I am unbelievably happy to announce I have signed a Multi fight deal with the number 1 combat sports organization in the world the @ufc. It took me a long time to get here and I earned it the hard way through nothing but hard work and self belief. Big thank you to @danawhite @seanshelby and @mickmaynard2 for the opportunity and to my
manager @audieattar & team at @paradigmsports working hard behind the scenes always. Also a huge shout to all my coaches, teammates, friends and family who’ve always supported me and pushed me on this crazy journey. My debut is in 2 WEEKS in Sydney Australia at #UFC293. Can’t even put into words how I feel but I tell you one thing, I will leave everything in that Octagon every single time! It’s been a long time coming and it’s time to shine on the world stage!! LETS GO.”

MMA Junkie further reported that Crosbie will make his debut against Kevin Jousset. Jousset, a French native, trains and fights out of City Kickboxing in Auckland, New Zealand – the home of UFC 293 headliner and middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. Jousett is 8-2 in his career with 4 wins coming by way of knockout.

Crosbie, nicknamed “Big Daddy Kief”, has amassed a 10-3 professional record since making his debut in 2016. Formally a Bellator signee, BDK got the most impressive win of his career last time out in Portuguese promotion Rise FC as he demolished long-time former UFC veteran Alex “Cowboy” Oliveira – a victory which sealed the Dubliner’s ticket to the eight-sided cage.

UFC 293 takes places in Sydney, Australia on September 9th and will be broadcast on TNT sports in Ireland.
