Ian Machado Garry will return to Las Vegas in December for a top-ten welterweight clash with Vicente Luque at UFC 296 at the T-Mobile Arena.

UFC CEO Dana White broke the news late Saturday night that Garry and Luque will join the stacked card which is being headlined by a welterweight title showdown between Leon Edwards and #1 Contender, Colby Covington. Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson vs. Shavkat Rakhmonov will also go to battle on the main card in the 170-pound division.

The UFC plans to finish the year strong with the announcements of a flyweight title fight between Alexandre Pantoja and Brandon Royval, which will take up the co-main event slot at the event. Last week, UFC also announced that Paddy Pimblett will also compete on the card when he takes on Tony Ferguson in the lightweight division.

Garry is coming off a decimation on Neil Magney at UFC 292 in August. Luque snapped a two-fight losing streak when he defeated Rafael dos Anjos at a UFC APEX event which also took place last August.

UFC 296 will take place on December 16 in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and will be available on PPV.
