3 MMA Fights To Watch At ONE Fight Night 16

Combat sports fans only have to wait one more week for the return of ONE Championship’s Fight Night series. 

The world’s largest martial arts organization heads back to Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Saturday, 4th November, for ONE Fight Night 16: Haggerty vs. Andrade.

The star-studded card may be headlined by a much-anticipated Muay Thai thriller, but there are some notable MMA bouts lined up before that goes down.

Let’s look at three unmissable contests in the all-encompassing sport set to take place at ONE Fight Night 16.

Ben Tynan vs. Kang Ji Won

In heavyweight MMA action, Ben Tynan will make his promotional debut against a fellow smashing machine in Kang Ji Won.

Tynan enters ONE with an unblemished professional record of 4-0, following a perfect run in the amateur ranks. He has earned three knockouts and a submission so far, but he’ll have his skills tested against Kang.

“Mighty Warrior” will look to get another winning streak underway at ONE Fight Night 16. And though he may have a lovable personality, his knockout power cannot be denied.

The South Korean star has stopped Paul Elliott, Mehdi Barghi, and Amir Aliakbari in ONE – all within the opening frame – so this battle of behemoths should be very interesting.

Lito Adiwang vs. Jeremy Miado

Lito Adiwang and Jeremy Miado are no strangers to each other, as they first crossed paths 18 months ago at ONE X.

That combustible affair met an unsatisfying end when Adiwang tore his ACL in the second round, forcing him to spend significant time in recovery.

“Thunder Kid” made an emphatic return at ONE Friday Fights 34, though, knocking out Adrian Mattheis in just 23 seconds, and now he’s out to get back at Miado.

“The Jaguar” pushed his winning streak to four in a row after meeting with Adiwang, but his momentum ended abruptly against Mansur Malachiev this past July at ONE Fight Night 11.

This all-Filipino strawweight MMA rematch is pivotal to both men’s relevance in the stacked division, so fans can expect them to swing for the fences when they clash once again.

Halil Amir vs. Ahmed Mujtaba

Elsewhere, a crucial lightweight MMA matchup will see Halil Amir and Ahmed Mujtaba locking horns as they both attempt to climb the divisional rankings. 

Amir has gotten his tenure in ONE off to a flying start, with wins over Timofey Nastyukhin and Maurice Abevi moving his professional slate to a perfect 9-0. The Turkish star currently sits as the #4-ranked contender, and a victory at ONE Fight Night 16 could see him move even higher. 

But Mujtaba is hungry for redemption. After amassing a two-fight winning streak over Rajul Rahu and Abraao Amorim, the Pakistani powerhouse’s run of dominance cwas halted by Sage Northcutt at ONE Fight Night 10 this past May.

“Wolverine” has consistently sought out the toughest of challenges, though, and should he overcome the skill set of Amir, he’ll put the lightweight MMA division on notice.
