ONE Championship Signs With Sky Sports To Broadcast In UK And Ireland

ONE Championship will have its busiest year yet in 2024, and fans in the UK and Ireland can now follow all the action live, as the organization inked a deal with Sky Sports earlier this week.

The partnership begins on Saturday, 13th January, with ONE Fight Night 18: Superlek vs. Mahmoudi going out at 1am GMT.

ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong says the deal with the European giant has been a long time coming, and he’s pleased British and Irish fans now have a homebase for all things ONE Championship.

“For years, our UK fans have been clamoring for ONE to be broadcast on one of the region’s major networks. Today, I’m excited to announce a new partnership with Sky Sports, the premier broadcaster for live sports in the U.K. and one of the most well-known sports networks in the world,” Sityodtong said.

“This deal marks an important milestone for the celebration of martial arts and the continued expansion of ONE Championship’s global footprint.”

The deal comes at the tail-end of a monumental year for British talent in ONE. Many stars have emerged through the weekly Friday Fights series and monthly Fight Night events.

UK talents like Nico Carrillo, Ellis Barboza, and two-sport ONE World Champion Jonathan “The General” Haggerty became undeniable stars in 2023.

Striking sensation Haggerty moved up to bantamweight and shocked the world when he claimed the Muay Thai and kickboxing straps within six months of each other, and he was delighted to hear of ONE’s latest deal.

“Wow! ONE Championship broadcasting on Sky Sports! Amazing work. The whole team really is making dreams come true. I am so excited to be showcasing my skills on such a massive platform. And look who’s the face of it,” he wrote on Instagram.

ONE Championship has announced it will host 61 events in 2024, including four trips to the U.S. and its first-ever event in Doha, Qatar, set for 1st March.
