Dana White announces a raft of mega UFC fights

With the clock about to strike 4am in Ireland, UFC President Dana White jumped on Instagram to announce a boatload of new fights. 

Firstly, White announced that at UFC 314 Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes will fight for the vacant featherweight title. Dana said current champion Ilia Topuria can no longer make weight and is moving up to lightweight, with no known opponent as of writing. 

Also on that UFC 314 card, set for Miami on April 12th, White announced a much rumoured bout between former Bellator champion Michael Chandler and former Cage Warriors champion Paddy Pimblett will take place. 

While rounding out the UFC 314 announcements, White also dropped news of Patricio Pitbull’s signing for the UFC. Pitbull will fight Yair Rodriguez in Miami. 

Elsewhere, White announced that Jack Della-Maddalena will be replaced by Sean Brady in the UFC London main event against Leon Edwards and instead the Aussie will fight in UFC 315’s main event in Montreal, Canada against Belal Muhammad for the welterweight title – with #1 contender Shavkat Rakhmonov struggling with injury. 

The co-main event for UFC 315 will be Valentina Shevchenko vs. Manon Fiorot for the women’s flyweight strap and will be preceeded by Gilbert Burns vs. Michael Morales at UFC 315, Dana White announces.
