KSW 62 Results

KSW 62 went down tonight in the Polish capital city of Warsaw. There was very little chance of the judges getting any repetitive strain injuries as six of the nine fights ended in the first round, along with another in the third round. Lots of action, lots of fun.

David Martinik beat Lemmy Krušič via KO/TKO (Round 1 punches)

Martinik dominated this one on the feet from early on. Krušič had a brief respite when he was able to grapple against the change. He then landed a poor takedown and ended up on the bottom with Martinik raining down blows. Nothing in the way of intelligent defence. Martinik gets his first KSW win.

Marcin Krakowiak beat Borys Borkowski via KO/TKO (Round 1 elbow injury)

Krakowiak was very active early and landed some nice shots. Shortly after he went for a takedown where Borkowski hurt himself posting as he went to the mat. Looked like a dislocated elbow. Krakowiak got the win.

Lom-Ali Eskijew beat Gilber Ordoñez via Submission (Round 1 head and arm choke)

Eskijew hurt Ordoñez early with a head kick and some big shots. Ordoñez was rocked and tried to take him down but ended up on his back. Eskijew passed into full mount and worked in a head and arm choke for the win.

Bruno Dos Santos beat Paweł Polityło via Unanimous Decision

A real war of attrition and a very close fight. Dos Santos edged the first with some big shots from top position. Polityło was able to do well in the grappling over the next two rounds, however Dos Santos was landing some impactful blows in the grappling exchanges. All three judges give Dos Santos the nod.

Sebastian Rajewski beat Artur Sowiński via Split Decision

A stand up war. Rajewski landed a knockdown midway through the first, Sowiński landed one of his own at the end of the round. Next two rounds were a chess match in the standup. Rajewski takes it on two cards 29-28.

Tomasz Sarara beat Filip Bradaric via KO/TKO (Round 3 retirement due to exhaustion)

Bradaric took Sarara down early in the first. He then went on to do lots of damage and attempted a Von Flue at the end of the first. Sarara was saved by the bell. Similar stuff in the second and the third started the same way until referee Piotr Jarusz stood them up. Sarara was able to sprawl on the next takedown attempt and ended up in full mount. From there, he landed a few shots and Bradaric tapped to exhaustion. What a comeback.

Adrian Bartosiński beat Michał Michalski via KO/TKO (Round 1 punches)

Bartosiński landed a huge left followed by a huge right. This sent Michalski into retreat. Bartosiński followed him and unloaded punches on the ground. What a talent.

Andrzej Grzebyk beat Marius Žaromskis via KO/TKO (Round 1 punches)

What a return to the cage for Grzebyk after breaking his leg in the first fight. He ended it in the first with a big right hand followed by a few exclamation marks. He’s the next superstar.

Szymon Kołecki beat Akop Szostak via KO/TKO (Round 1 uppercut)

This was fun while it lasted. It was a brawl from the get go. Szostak did better than expected, he landed a few big shots. Kołecki finished it with a big uppercut right behind the ear and it was curtains after that.

KSW will return in September with a KSW Welterweight Championship fight between Roberto Soldic and Patrick Kincl.
